Madruga: The House Party We’d Go To Every Weekend

The family affair set in a 19th-century mansion overlooking the Black Mountains of Wales

What. A. Gaff. Madruga seriously delivered this year with some huge names, an incredible site and a crowd that really knew their stuff. Here's our round up of sets that blew us away:

The bookings were stacked all weekend. A highlight for us was a huge 3 hour B2B from Unai Trotti (@unai_trotti) and DJ Masda (@hauznated) before Aurora Halal closed out the club.

A double header of live electro goodness from the star of the moment, Reptant (@_reptant) proved to be the treat we all thought it would be, delivering an ever-evolving live set closing the Dome. Through to Berwick (@aux.berwick), who laid out some wonky euphoric electro that got everyone moving on Sunday.

It’s easy to see how a small group of friends have made Madruga feel like a house party. The small capacity and focus on access to chill out space fostered a lovely vibe for the festival that carried through the entire weekend. 🧡

Up and coming talent was on full display at Madruga, with some artists we’re seeing climb the ranks and deliver some of our favourite sets. Firstly, @fae_dj delivered some seriously chunky selections and played off the crowd effortlessly, as it geared up for the afternoon / evening.

@teetee184 closed out the Green House stage with her dark, driving electro sound, and we loved every minute of it. Even as she was clashing with Egyptian Lover (our personal Sophie’s choice), the stage stayed packed the entire night, a testament to her selections and ability to captivate.

Also worth a mention was Papa Nugs b2b Hutch (@papanugs @djhutch), a b2b relationship that worked so well it had everyone transfixed in the red room even in ferocious July heat. But the best selection in my opinion was DJ Senc (@djsenc) building suspense and tension so crisp you could cut through with a knife.

Time stood still and flew by effortlessly at the same time. Madruga, we’d be back to the house straight from the offy next weekend if you’d have us.
